A few months ago we sent Etsy shop owner and blogger, Elizabeth, a custom rubber stamp with her very own hand crafted artwork design. It seems Lizzie has put her quirky stamp to good use by creating her very own wrapping paper using recycled paper and a splash of paint!
By painting onto the recycled paper using water colours she has created this wishy-washy effect for the background. Lizzie then applied her impression over her pre-painted paper once it was dry, creating this lovely pattern! Even with such a complex and fine design you can get a really great impression from a rubber stamp! Tip: when using a traditional rubber stamp and ink pad, apply even pressure when inking up and dab lightly a number of times rather than pressing down hard just the once, this ensures that the rubber die is covered in ink evenly.
As you can see the end result is very effective, by wrapping the paper around cardboard boxes Lizzie has created her very own gift boxes!
You don’t just have to apply this to paper, get your creative juices flowing and try fabric or wood? At speedy stamps we have various inks suitable for different purposes! Not sure? Pop over an e-mail and we can recommend the best products for the job!
